Method:

First prepare ware for decoration by removing and rough areas that might be on the ware, using a fine piece of sanding paper. If using greenware prepare greenware for decoration and fire to witness cone 04.

Sketch or trace pattern onto the wares surface. This pattern is repeated over and over until the entire surface of the ware is covered front and back.

With a medium size round brush apply 1-2 applications of the Fire Red Bisque Stroke underglaze to all the hibiscus flowers, do not do the center stamen of the flowers. Pull in the stamens with a large Liner and the Lemon Yellow, and then add dots at the end of each stamen with the brush handle.

The leaves are done at random, some are base coated with the Lemon Yellow then a thin application of Leaf Green is applied to the leaves and then a slight detailing with Bottle Green. Other leaves are base coated with Leaf Green and the shaded with Bottle Green. Make all leaves darker at their base and lighter toward the tips.

The small berries on the pattern are done with Flame Orange.

Outline and detail the entire design with the liner and Black. Use a medium size round brush and apply a thin application of Copper Green to all the unpainted background areas.

Fill the trailing bottle with the Filigrana and apply a thin highlighting tubing of white to the stamens and berries.

Dip piece in Transparent or if using a brushing glaze apply two coats of Transparent over the entire item.

Fire the piece to witness cone 06.
